Principal Investigator, Dr. Charles R. McClure, FSU-iSchool & The FSU Information Institute: Dr. Charles R. McClure will oversee the project, providing existing telecom and industry connections and establishing new contacts as new broadband initiatives emerge. He will oversee the design of data collection instruments, conduct focus groups and dissemination meetings to stakeholders of preliminary findings. He will coordinate agreement of stakeholders to
recommendations and will facilitate final dissemination efforts. He will conduct project planning meetings for establishing roles and responsibilities and provide research expertise. He will participate in designing and testing semi-structured employer instruments and the focus group discussion guide and he will participate in conducting focus groups. At the end of the fourth quarter in 2015, McClure will participate in presenting a workshop to faculty and regional industry/ representatives to disseminate preliminary analysis and findings. In 2017, he will hold a Francis Eppes Lecture at FSU for regional faculty, industry and workforce representatives to disseminate preliminary findings. will guide data collection design, integrating feedback from Co-PIs while delivering and monitoring data collection methods. She will also advise on the educational curricula methods and analysis and internally evaluate program outcomes, facilitating communication between external evaluator and all stakeholders as needed. She will submit content analysis of the collected syllabi, job ads and postings, participate in designing and testing semi-structured employer instruments, and test focus group discussion guides. Associate Dean Randeree will assist in the recruitment of industry leaders throughout the north Florida region. He will provide recent graduate contacts, provide industry contacts, advise on the findings of the curricula analysis and also assist in facilitation of the dissemination seminar at FSU. He will participate in project planning meetings that establish roles and responsibilities for the project, coordinate the recruitment of students, recent graduate contacts, faculty and industry leaders. He will assist with identifying and recruiting IT employers with employees in nonmetro and metropolitan counties of Northwest Florida, and participate in the literature review of two and four year educational pathways and an environmental scan of all schools. He will help draft interview questions to be used in the interviews, will help conduct interviews with IT faculty, collect and examine syllabi from IT courses, and will advise on the findings of the curricula analysis. At the end of the fourth quarter in 2015, Randeree will participate in presenting a workshop to faculty and regional industry/ representatives to disseminate preliminary analysis and findings. Kate Stewart’s involvement will include organization of the industry stakeholder relationships and conducting employer interviews. Dean Stewart will also provide data to assist with the project’s examination of pathways that students take as they complete their programs of study.
She will participate in employer interviews, employee focus groups, guiding the design of both one-on-one and focus group interview guides, analyzing results and participating in the dissemination seminar. She will also liase with various faculty at TCC to discuss curriculum matters relevant to the study findings.
